Subject: Maersk exands chassis program in Southeast
Dear Valued Unique Customer,
The below article regarding Maersk chassis program is indication of what is becoming a trend in the market for most ocean carriers. The program started in Northeast USA market (i.e. Boston, New York) as a measure by the carrier to exit the chassis business which is a large expense for maintenance and management. The program is now expending to other markets as indicated in the below article not only for Maersk but other carrier as well. It is anticipated that by 2011, all chassis will be under separate lease arrangement.
