Subject: India Port Congestion at Nhava Sheva/Bombay/Mombai
Dear Valued Unique Customers,
Kindly see the below message in blue ink from our office in India:
We wish to inform all that rail pendancy at NSICT and GTI terminals
reached to 15 days and at the same
time there is a congestion at container yard. This
is because of delay in rail movement to various ICD's
contributed to poor supply of trains from CONCOR
So there is severe congestion in the terminal NSICT and GTI.
The congestion has badly affected intake of export
containers from Icd’s and local boxes at NSICT,
due to heavy inventory pile up of containers and limitations on
evacuation of import boxes from Nhava Sheva ,
resulting in early closure of gates for exports.
The congestion has badly affected berthing of the
vessels, even though vessels are arriving on time,
pilot shortages have resulted in
inordinate berthing delays, disturbing the long term sailing schedule of
the vessels.
Vessels are waiting outside for 2-3 days due
to non availability of berth.
Port and Lines are taking all the necessary
steps to solve the problems and shall keep you updated on the developments.
If the situation has any serious changes, then we will advise accordingly.
