Subject: Emergency Ocean Bunker Fuel
Surcharge
Dear
Valued Unique Customer,
Due to global fuel price increases and drastic
increase of bunker cost (i.e. ocean fuel), many of the ocean carrier have announced and
filed in their tariff an emergency fuel surcharge of one type or another (i.e.
EFC, EFS, EBS, EBR, EFR, etc…) to recover the increased cost of ocean bunker
fuel. This effective date could be implemented on cargo departing as
early as December 20th, 2007. The targeted amount of the
surcharge ranges from $200-300 per 40GP (other sizes per formula). Since
not all carriers have announced the same amount and/or effective date, Unique
Logistics International is working with all contract carriers to minimize
and/or mitigate the surcharge impact to our customers. At the same time,
we will review alternative options which do not jeopardize routings and/or
service to our clients.
Thank you for
your support of Unique Logistics International. We appreciate and value
your business!
Best Regards
David Hickmott - Executive Vice President
