Application of Vancouver Port Congestion Surcharge

 

In view of the recent serious congested situation in the port of Vancouver, which results in substantial reduction of carriers’ quota for discharging and storing containers at the port, we have no alternative but to apply a Vancouver Port Congestion Surcharge to recover our loss of carrying capacity.  Following is the details of application:

 

Vancouver Port Congestion Surcharge (PCS)

Effective: March 13, 2007

Validity: Until further notice

Quantum:

a)       For Vancouver local cargo - $80/$100/$115/$125 per 20’/40’/40’hc/45’hc.

b)       For Canadian IPI/MLB via Vancouver - $225/$300/$338/$380 per 20’/40’/40’hc/45’hc.

Remarks:

-Application of PCS is basing on the date laden containers of the same B/L delivered into Carrier’s custody.

 

We ask for your understanding of the necessity of this emergent surcharge, and we will eliminate it once the congestion situation is eased, and port and rail operation resume to a reasonable level.
