Port Congestion Surcharge
Application of Vancouver Port Congestion Surcharge
In view of the recent serious congested situation in the port of Vancouver, which results in substantial reduction of carriers¡¯ quota for discharging and storing containers at the port, we have no alternative but to apply a Vancouver Port Congestion Surcharge to recover our loss of carrying capacity. Following is the details of application:
Vancouver Port Congestion Surcharge (PCS)
Effective: March 13, 2007
Validity: Until further notice
Quantum:
a) For Vancouver local cargo - $80/$100/$115/$125 per 20¡¯/40¡¯/40¡¯hc/45¡¯hc.
b) For Canadian IPI/MLB via Vancouver - $225/$300/$338/$380 per 20¡¯/40¡¯/40¡¯hc/45¡¯hc.
Remarks:
-Application of PCS is basing on the date laden containers of the same B/L delivered into Carrier¡¯s custody.
We ask for your understanding of the necessity of this emergent surcharge, and we will eliminate it once the congestion situation is eased, and port and rail operation resume to a reasonable level.
Should you have any question about this surcharge, please feel free to contact our sales staff.
